Translink Transit Cops - Accidental Fascists or Complete Idiots?

Well, well, well. The BC Transit Police (BCTP) have sure gotten themselves into a pickle now haven't they? Why, with all their rigorous training, advanced mental profiling techniques and need to serve and protect the very people that pay their salaries, surely this is all a misunderstanding , right? WRONG! This group of underachieving cowboys has to be taught a lesson. The transit property and surrounding area is not their private fiefdom where they can roam around handing out their own style of justice as judge, jury and hopefully not, executioner. Did law enforcement learn nothing from the tragedy at YVR? That incident by the way, and the evidence that surfaced afterwards proved that the RCMP where completely wrong in the way that situation was handled. Period. Back to the BCTP. I'm sure the members go through the J.I. and take the same training as other municipal police force members do, but I wonder if THEIR passing grade is a bit lower than the others. Hmmmmm. I've seen real police officers, yes, REAL, police officers help people and actually provide assistance to those with questions and concerns. These "officers" of the BCTP come across as rude, uneducated and lazy. They don't want to put the work into being an officer of law. When the BCTP first hit the ground I walked up to a few and asked questions to see if they knew the transit system and could answer basic questions of the area. Every single one brushed off the question or pawned me off to one of the Skytrain attendants. What too busy being big lazy man on campus? Lazy being the key phrase here. When a person is lazy, they will route themselves to the quickest & easiest method of completing the task at hand. The cavalier use of the tazer, proves this point. If an officer's life is in harms way, then I believe in the use of force to subdue the threat. It's the same as rules of engagement in combat. Now, when a person is running AWAY, does that constitute a threat? NO! Mind you, our soldiers serving in theatres overseas are engaging in kinetic activities well beyond what the BCTP will EVER experience and they deserve to be allowed to engage a retreating enemy because if engaged and neutrilized, it won't come back. Over there is LIFE & DEATH. Period. Skytrain and Buses are NOT kinetic theatres. The BCTP are LAZY! If someone is running away over a $3.75 fare, and you shoot them., you are a coward and do not deserve the right to enforce ANY law. Also, if they are running away does that mean you shot somebody in the back? Fucking coward. Earn your money. Chase after the guy if its' that important to you. In all the years I've been using transit to go downtown, to concerts and games mainly, I have seen maybe....3-5 fights between people. This is since skytrain started for EXPO. I take the train to get to some pretty rowdy concerts and nary a concern for safety. If a fight is going on, I've seen police take down people physically to the ground. The real police officers earn their keep. So, I've been rambling on for a while now and must bring this to a close. In a nut shell, YES take the damn tasers away from BCTP and make them earn their salary. Also, while we are at it take them away from every officer that has ever used them unjustifiably. Only those that know how to use power should ever have power. Thanks for listening.

Fitness Centre

I'm very excited! The new fitness gear our strata ordered has arrived and is being set up now. It is all new commercial grade Life Fitness gear. This is awesome. New treadmills, elliptical, bikes, 1 is a recumbent, and weight stations. One of them is a 3 station set-up. Also a leg/calf machine. This is good. I had reached a plateau with the gear that was in use. This new gear will take my workouts to the next level! Yipee! Well, I'll post some pics of the new gear once it is assembled. Bye for now.

Weekend activities

Well, let's see...Friday night was nice and relaxing. Made some hand-pulled panko shrimp with a sweet Thai chili sauce. Also had a mango chipolte chili sauce on the side. Very nice. Saturday, did some running around with Alex and stopped in at my buddy Andy's garage. Quite a guy & quite a genius. If you are ever looking for an honset master mechanic that is certified at everything, Andy is your guy. Dinner with Alex was quite the event. Keg on Thurlow and ran into Sara & Evelynn. Had the 28oz primerib rare and as many scotches as Forrest Gump had Dr. Peppers. Also, the ladies where buying shots of espresso vodka. Mmmmmmm, very dangerous. Met some lovely people as Alex and I talked about the marketing of his script. Got home around 3:30am & drank a couple bottles of water and went to bed. Got up today at 3:00pm! Made a wonderful blueberry-orange-banana smoothie and proceeded to watch hockey & a bit of the masters. Also, congrats to the mens curling squad for winning the world champion
ships! Well, Calgary just beat San Jose. They came back from a 3-0 defecit to win 4-3.
So, that's the weekend in a nutshell. Time for a cup of tea and a bit of email returns and off to bed. Bye for now.

CBC Rally - Save CBC 2 & the Radio Orchestra

Well, as mentioned earlier, the rally at CBC was a success. I haven't checked in yet to see how the rallies across Canada went, but if Vancouver had a great turnout at 9am, I imagine those in the east held at noon did quite well also. Even if you are not a fan of classical music or even if you have your differences with CBC, you have to agree that the killing of the CBCRO (CBC Radio Orchestra) and the decimation of culture at the CBC is wrong. Clicking on the title of this entry will take you to the support website where you can find information regarding this crisis and what you can do to help stop this absurd action. Also, scroll down to see some pictures and video from todays activities in Vancouver. I hope you will take the time to become aware of this issue. Even if you can't support the fight financially, support it mentally. Spread the word and website info to friends & family. Remember, pressure applied to government correctly can yield results sought. We just stopped the sale of MDA to an american weapons manufacturer. A little effort at the beginning of a cause can bring great things down the road. Thanks ever so much. For all the pictures & video check out my facebook profile, W. Robert Millar. Thanks again.

Well, there you go.
