Translink Transit Cops - Accidental Fascists or Complete Idiots?

Well, well, well. The BC Transit Police (BCTP) have sure gotten themselves into a pickle now haven't they? Why, with all their rigorous training, advanced mental profiling techniques and need to serve and protect the very people that pay their salaries, surely this is all a misunderstanding , right? WRONG! This group of underachieving cowboys has to be taught a lesson. The transit property and surrounding area is not their private fiefdom where they can roam around handing out their own style of justice as judge, jury and hopefully not, executioner. Did law enforcement learn nothing from the tragedy at YVR? That incident by the way, and the evidence that surfaced afterwards proved that the RCMP where completely wrong in the way that situation was handled. Period. Back to the BCTP. I'm sure the members go through the J.I. and take the same training as other municipal police force members do, but I wonder if THEIR passing grade is a bit lower than the others. Hmmmmm. I've seen real police officers, yes, REAL, police officers help people and actually provide assistance to those with questions and concerns. These "officers" of the BCTP come across as rude, uneducated and lazy. They don't want to put the work into being an officer of law. When the BCTP first hit the ground I walked up to a few and asked questions to see if they knew the transit system and could answer basic questions of the area. Every single one brushed off the question or pawned me off to one of the Skytrain attendants. What too busy being big lazy man on campus? Lazy being the key phrase here. When a person is lazy, they will route themselves to the quickest & easiest method of completing the task at hand. The cavalier use of the tazer, proves this point. If an officer's life is in harms way, then I believe in the use of force to subdue the threat. It's the same as rules of engagement in combat. Now, when a person is running AWAY, does that constitute a threat? NO! Mind you, our soldiers serving in theatres overseas are engaging in kinetic activities well beyond what the BCTP will EVER experience and they deserve to be allowed to engage a retreating enemy because if engaged and neutrilized, it won't come back. Over there is LIFE & DEATH. Period. Skytrain and Buses are NOT kinetic theatres. The BCTP are LAZY! If someone is running away over a $3.75 fare, and you shoot them., you are a coward and do not deserve the right to enforce ANY law. Also, if they are running away does that mean you shot somebody in the back? Fucking coward. Earn your money. Chase after the guy if its' that important to you. In all the years I've been using transit to go downtown, to concerts and games mainly, I have seen maybe....3-5 fights between people. This is since skytrain started for EXPO. I take the train to get to some pretty rowdy concerts and nary a concern for safety. If a fight is going on, I've seen police take down people physically to the ground. The real police officers earn their keep. So, I've been rambling on for a while now and must bring this to a close. In a nut shell, YES take the damn tasers away from BCTP and make them earn their salary. Also, while we are at it take them away from every officer that has ever used them unjustifiably. Only those that know how to use power should ever have power. Thanks for listening.
